Time To Re-Do The Downstairs

I like to document home improvements, so here we go again. Time to do something about the miserable, unused rec room with the worn out carpet. Actually, this project is about getting rid of ugly carpeting from the whole downstairs: rec room, office, guest room, hallway.

There. Good-bye, carpet! Hello, problems that were formerly concealed by the carpet. The floor has a major fault-line running through it. Simon thinks this is a crack that could be effectively filled by the brownie mixture I made the other day.

Way cool space!

I see a wet-bar going in over in the corner there complete with Green Bay Packer/Brett Favre memorabelia & the 60-inch plasma screen t.v. over on this wall in front of the dark brown colored leather couch. OOooo...don't forget the X-Box 360 & Cable so you can hammer on the latest Halo3 online.

God I love re-modeling! :)))
Go Pack!

OK, wet bar for sure...and leather couch eventually...

The TV is a problem, not just 'cause we've banned TV from the house. The other difficulty is that there is a HUGE place to put one in the built-in bookcase that is out of the picture. I keep looking at his big space going, "Fish tank?" "Fake fire place?" "Secret compartment?" The only thing that BELONGS there is a TV.

We have a dart board down there already, so after we get the flooring down, the next step is a pool table (when we have some $$)and a fussball.

Then, a party.

We banned TV over here too, but not completely. There is still the occasional movie, and of course I turn it on every once in awhile, for like an hour when the children are asleep (sshhh...bad mommy).
Good luck with your renovations! Can't wait to see the finished room.

It just looks so um...fucking CLEAN. My basement has two drum sets, a pair of conga drums, bongos, a steel pan, an old piano, several electric guitars and regular ones, a trumpet, a treadmill and bike. And then there is the laundry room which has the washer and dryer and tons of bookcases and storage bins.

And a bathroom.

This is all on red and black shag carpeting.

It is the carpeting that Marcia Brady would have died for....
